Inhalt
Prof. Nino Chachava, Faculty of Architecture, Urban Planning and Design, Georgische Technische Universität – GTU, Tiflis, Georgien "The Role of architectural-archaeological measurement in cultural heritage preservation policy - A big data analysis case Study”
The theme of the presentation connects to the urgency of the issue and the problem of loss of architectural monuments as a cultural heritage. Over time, the monuments are destroyed and changed, and it is also noteworthy that sometimes the landscape around the monument also changes. The historical and existing photo material make us to think so. Even if some of the monuments no longer exist, and there is only photographic material about them. One of the important ways to solve the problem is to prevent the loss of information and memory, monument preservation by the way of data collection and documentation. The development of digital technologies has created unique possibilities for detailed and very precise investigations toward the preservation of architectural and landscape heritage codes and other data, providing information and analysis in different sections and layers of thinking to prepare the monument descriptive materials and undertake deeper investigations regarding the terms of sustainability, climate change etc. Digital technologies are in the beginning of their development and require clarification in terms of the use and processing of information. Our presentation highlights the problems and priorities of 3D laser scanning method in architectural Heritage Documentation on the large complexes of Vardzia and Gelati, their forms and analysis of mural painting. In the case of big data collection, working with large complexes, we used the individual policy of laser scanning in measurement and data processing as well as a special approach for the 3D laser scanning project. The large architectural and mural painting complexes were investigated by the way of specific, initial environment preparation in each stage of the survey - site preparation part, photography, data survey, modeling, exploring and drawing platforms. The presentation contains the description of a data registration strategy by an appropriate registration system and definition of their combination in order to get complete and registered point cloud data. Cluster methods and comparative analysis and the general recommendations for big data from laser scanning, electronic and digital database organization and preparation of documentation system and search engine would be discussed. Zum Vortrag ergeht herzliche Einladung. Prof. Dr. Mona Hess – KDWT, Digitale Denkmaltechnologien
