- In this course, students will get acquainted with the latest research on singlehood and romantic relationships from a personality psychology perspective. The following topics will be discussed: well-being and self-esteem among singles, stereotypes of single people, initiating romantic relationships (attraction, dating), maintaining romantic relationships (what is love?, stability, communication, satisfaction and commitment in relationships, dealing with conflicts), diversity in romantic relationships (same-sex relationships, intercultural relationships, long-distance relationships) and relationship dissolution (breaking up, “rebound relationships”).
