- Inhalt
- The course will offer an introduction to contemporary discussions about the epistemic value of science, the structure of theories, the relationship between science and experience, the connection between science and philosophy. The focus will be initially set on logical positivism and the view of science which it put forward and which became standard in the first half of the 20th century. It will then move to objections to the standard view due to the critics of empiricism (Popper, Kuhn, Feyerabend), to debates on realism, and to the problems of scientific explanation.
