Scheinanforderungen:
2 ECTS: regular active participation in class + presentation
4 ECTS: regular active participation in class + presentation + short assignment
6 ECTS: regular active participation in class + presentation + term paper
3/4/6 ECTS (BA Ergänzungsmodul in combination with the course Methods and Theories , 1 ECTS): regular active participation in class + presentation + oral exam (20 min)

8 ECTS sind nur für BA-Studierende nach Absprache mit dem Dozenten vor Semesterbeginn möglich.

Modulanbindungen:
Diese Lehrveranstaltung ist für alle Studiengänge (Lehramt, BA, MA usw.) geeignet, in denen 2, 3, 4 oder 6 ECTS im Rahmen eines Seminars oder einer frei wählbaren Übung in der englischen Sprachwissenschaft erforderlich sind.

Combination with "Methods and Theories in Linguistics":
In the early weeks of term, we offer an introductory block familiarizing students with linguistic research methods (the Übung "Methods and Theories in Linguistics"): https://univis.uni-bamberg.de/form?dsc=anew/lecture_view&lvs=guk/angl/engls/method&anonymous=1&founds=guk/angl/engls/method&sem=2022w&codeset=utf8. Participation in this Übung is recommended for anyone with a strong interest in Linguistics. For those BA students planning on doing their Ergänzungsmodul in Linguistics, for all students doing Lehramt Gymnasium and for all MA students, the course is obligatory at a certain point in their studies, so it is recommended to do it as early as possible. These participants are required to reserve the following times and dates: Monday, 24 October 2022, 8-10am, Thursday, 3 November 2022, 8-10am, and Friday, 4 November 2022, 8am-12pm. General organization

For BA students, this course is part of the Ergänzungsmodul.
BA major English and American studies (75 ECTS): Choose the Ergänzungsmodul in one of the two fields in which you are doing the Aufbaumodule (i.e. Literature, Linguistics or Cultural Studies).
BA minor English and American studies (30 or 45 ECTS): Choose the Ergänzungsmodul in the same field in which you are doing the Aufbaumodul (i.e. Literature, Linguistics or Cultural Studies).

A short note on the time slots above:
The course comprises three online sessions, all of which require attendance via MS Teams: Two hours (8-10 am) on Monday, 24 October, two hours (8-10 am) on Thursday, 3 November, and four hours (8 am -12 pm) on Friday, 4 November, with a little project work in between. Please contact the lecturers for special arrangements if you encounter timetabling issues. The sessions from 26 October to 2 November (via MS Teams) are consultation hours for supporting the project work; attendance is not obligatory or permanent.
