Students who wish to obtain a certificate of achievement need to register for the exam in FlexNow. Since this registration can only take place during the semester, the registration period for this will be announced seperately.
The acquisition of the certificate of achievement will take place via an oral exam at the end of the semester.
This course will be taught in English. It is open to students of history, but also to students from all other fields of studies. The exam is an oral exam of 15-20 min at the end of the semester. The final exam will be held in English (or in German or in French at the candidate's request).
- Inhalt
- Climate change caused by industrialisation and the increased emission of greenhouse gases since industrialisation is a central problem for politics in the 21st century. The fact that there was and is a "natural" climate change in addition to the "man-made" one is often cited as an arguement in this debate. The lecture course will focus on the climatic changes in Europe during the Middle Ages (500-1500). Beginning with the deterioration of climatic conditions at the end of Antiquity, through the high medieval warm period to the renewed sudden cooling and breakdown of the at the beginning of the 14th century, which led to the "Little Ice Age", the indicators of climate change in the sources and the effects of climatic changes on agriculture, trade and demographic development will be shown.
