- Inhalt
- The seminar intends to introduce students to the main problems in the philosophy of language, by considering how they emerge both in the traditional Aristotelian context and within the womb of contemporary analytical philosophy. Linguistic meaning will be analysed in its relations to reference, psychology, social practice, and logical structure. After a discussion of Aristotle’s De interpretatione, the seminar will focus on texts by Frege, Russell and Wittgenstein.

- A reader will be available at the office of Philosophy Chair I from the first week of lectures of the Summer semester.
