- This seminar will examine the influence of culture on the consumption of alcohol. The cultures that will be examined closely are the German and US-American culture. You will have the unique opportunity to work directly with a group of American students that will be coming to Bamberg in the end of May. The itinerary is as follows:
Beginning of the Semester (date will be announced): obligatory meeting in which four groups will be formed. You can choose between the following focus groups:
- Alcohol consumption under and over 21
- Alcohol and the workplace
- Alcohol and advertising
- Alcohol and religion
The same groups will be formed at the Christopher Newport University in Newport News, Virginia. Together with your American counterpart you ll develop a questionnaire that can be distributed among a German and an American sample. The findings will be analyzed and evaluated in workshops on the 30th of May as well as the 1st and 2nd of June with a short presentation on the 3rd.
