Zeit und Ort: Di 18:00 - 20:00, MG2/01.11
- Voraussetzungen / Organisatorisches

- Inhalt
- A lot of research has been devoted to intergroup conflict, grievances, enmity and other negative group relations. Groups, it appears, are inherently prone to differentiate themselves from others and in doing so reducing their own internal differences.
This, however, stands in contrast to the plethora of possible differences that can be present within and across groups, which are not seen as problematic, but are rather welcomed as adding to the group or being exciting about other groups. If groups are, however, hetereogeneous and diverse, how can they handle these differences without falling apart into smaller groups or worse develop towards conflict?
In this seminar, we will discuss various solutions offered by social psychology, most notably allophilia, human identity, multiculturalism and global citizenship.
Please note that this seminar is the first part, of a two-part module, which will continue next semester. It will be credited as the "Wahlpflichtmodul Sozialpsychologie".
