- Inhalt:
- In der Vorlesung sollen nach einer allgemeinen Einführung (u.a. zum Gegenstand der Finanzwissenschaft und zur Rechtfertigung staatlicher Aktivität in kompetitiven Volkswirtschaften) zentrale Herausforderungen der Finanzpolitik in Deutschland, v.a. aber auf EU-Ebene, d.h. im Kontext des europäischen Integrationsprozesses beleuchtet werden. Themenkomplexe wie die Rechtfertigung föderaler Finanzstrukturen, die Frage der Steuerinzidenz im internationalen Kontext oder mögliche Formen wirtschafts- und budgetpolitischer Koordination sollen zunächst einer theoretischen Analyse unterzogen werden, ehe der Ist-Zustand erörtert wird und Optionen für die zukünftige Ausgestaltung zur Diskussion gestellt werden: Wie ist der Länderfinanzausgleich in Deutschland geregelt? Ist im Rahmen der gegenwärtigen Wirtschafts- und Finanzverfassung der EU ein europäischer Finanzausgleich denkbar? Was spricht für, was gegen eine EU-Steuer? Ist der Stabilitätspakt ein ökonomisch rationales Instrument zur budgetpolitischen Koordination auf EU-Ebene? Neben diesen angewandten Aspekten wird in der Vorlesung auch auf theoretische Fragestellungen eingegangen, z.B. auf Steuerinzidenz auf kompetitiven Märkten und auf Steuern und Effizienz in Partialmodellen.

- Objective:
In this seminar we will discuss human behavior and how it is modeled in economics. The objective of this seminar is to develop a game which illustrates and conveys human behavior. After a theoretical introduction, students will study an economic effect in detail and generate a game which they will present in class. Additionally, students should gather data on the behavior of players and evaluate the data with respect to the economic effect. The seminar is held in English.

- Introduction into basics of microeconomics at the level of Mikoökonomik I and II (BA) at Bamberg University (e.g., Pindyck, R.S. and D.L. Rubinfeld, 2005, Microeconomics, 6e, Pearson Education International or Varian, 2006, Intermediate Microeconomics, Varian, Hal R. (2006): Intermediate Microeconomics: A Modern Approach, Sixth Edition. New York: Norton.) and solid mastery of math at least at the level of Mathematik für Wirtschaftswissenschaftler I and II (BA) at Bamberg University.
- Inhalt:
- The course provides an introduction into modern microeconomic theory. Students will be trained in applications of the standard microeconomic toolkit at an advanced level of mathematical and conceptual rigor. Central goal of the course is the mastery of key techniques of microeconomic analysis such as the analysis of individual choice with and without risk, the computation of equilibria in exchange or production economies and games. Special emphasis is given to the economics of information. Lectures are in English.
