- Inhalt
- This course provides a systematic introduction and overview of the grammar of Turkish, the official language of Turkey / Türkiye. We will cover the main points of phonology, morphology and syntax, building on examples and exercises provided in the course. Turkish is an excellent case study for understanding many fundamental issues of grammatical analysis which are found in many other languages as well, in particular vowel harmony; agglutinative morphology, and head-directionality in both morphology and syntax. Students will be expected to complete regular assignments for gaining ECTS points. The most important reference for this course is the grammar of Turkish by Göksel & Kerslake (2005); sections will be provided on the VC.
