	PWB-PF-S: Seminar Politikfeldanalyse: The Politics of Social Inequality Proseminar; Rein Präsenz; 2 SWS; In the recent decades we observe a global increase in social inequality - a trend that represents a clear departure from the development of the post-war decades. While this trend has long been attributed to structural changes such as globalization and technological progress, the influence of political decisions (or lack of them) is increasingly coming into focus. Accordingly, governments influence the distribution of income, wealth and life chances not only through taxes and welfare state programs, but also through the (de)regulation of markets. 	PWB-PF-S: Seminar Politikfeldanalyse: Welfare Transformations in Post-socialist Europe Seminar; Rein Präsenz; 2 SWS; The aim of this seminar is to introduce the main patterns of welfare transformation in the region of Post-socialist Europe. The central question for discussion is how to explain variation in public policy and performance across different post-socialist states and across time. The welfare state development in the region will be discussed in the context of transformation processes including privatization and changing labour relations.
