2 SWS, Unterrichtssprache Deutsch, The aim of this seminar is to introduce the main patterns of welfare transformation in the region of Post-socialist Europe. The central question for discussion is how to explain variation in public policy and performance across different post-socialist states and across time. The welfare state development in the region will be discussed in the context of transformation processes including privatization and changing labour relations. The expected outcome of the course is for students to understand the main challenges and institutional choices of the public policy in post-socialist Europe.
