This talk explores why the US populist and religious right vote for Trumpism--what in history and present conditions make that seem in their best interests--and how religious groups are responding to Trump's policies.

Professor Dr. Marcia Pally teaches at New York University and held the Mercator Professorship in the Theology Faculty of Humboldt University, Berlin, where she is now an annual guest professor and member of the Center for Interreligious Theology and Religious Studies and the Berlin Institute for Public Theology. Her most recent books include: White Evangelicals and Right-wing Populism: How Did We Get Here? and America’s New Evangelicals: Expanding the vision of the common good
