- Inhalt:
- Thema: Behavioral economics in IS design
What you will learn: This seminar offers an introduction to behavioral mechanisms that can help developers to build more effective IS. It will cover important psychological, social, cognitive, and emotional factors that need to be considered in state-of-the-art IS design. Participants will become familiar with concepts to nudge users and learn about behavioral aspects such as fallacies and biases. Participants will also discuss ethical aspects (i.e. the fine line between manipulation and honest support) and transfer the learning to exemplary applications that can promote energy efficiency.
Alongside the behavioral mechanism, you will also become familiar with reading scientific papers, practice writing scientific reports, and learn how to better present your work in class.

Projekt Smart Grid Data Analytics (Digitalization and Predicative Maintenance in the Heating Sector) -
- Dozent/in:
- Thorsten Staake
- Angaben:
- Übung, 4,00 SWS, ECTS: 6
- Termine:
- Di, 14:00 - 16:00, WE5/03.004
Fr, 10:00 - 12:00, WE5/03.004
- Voraussetzungen / Organisatorisches:
- Dieses Projekt ist eine 4 SWS. Bitte beachten Sie, dass die Veranstaltung aus zwei wöchentlichen Terminen besteht.
- Inhalt:
- Introduction
Space and water heating accounts for about 70% of a household’s energy demand. At the same time, the market for heating systems in the domestic sector is worth over 2bn EUR per year in Germany alone. This makes space and water heating a very interesting target both from an environmental and from a business perspective and at the same time accelerates the digitalization for the sake of better energy and process efficiency.
In the past, most domestic systems had rather simplistic controls (e.g., not taking into account whether the inhabitants of an apartment are at home or not) and offered no network connectivity that would, for example, allow technicians to diagnose problems remotely and thereby reduce cost. Moreover, data analytics capabilities are missing that could detect inefficiencies of malfunctions in advance. Increasing competition, growing customer expectations, and the attempt to offer installers better service and sales tools now force heating manufacturers to develop digital products and services.
Goal of the project
The goal of this project is to formulate an accurate requirements definition for a service portal that supports heating installers / technicians to configure and maintain heating systems and to develop a simple prototype that showcases the proposed functionality. This years project puts its focus on the requirement and specification phase rather than on the system development.
