BA or equivalent qualification in Political Science, no prior statistical (or computing) knowledge is required.
A tutorial with application exercises will be offered on 2 June 2022 (12-14, RZ 00.06), 23 June 2022 (12-14, RZ 00.06) and 21 July 2022 (12-14, RZ 00.06).

- Prerequisites: BA in political science or a comparative qualification (for students with foreign degrees); Basic knowledge of research methods and experience in structuring and writing academic papers. Teaching language is English: sufficiently good English is required.

Assessment/Erwerb eines Leistungsnachweises: Independent preparation of each session (including reading the compulsory reading material and preparation of the session); a portfolio consisting of: 1) an extended abstract of the research paper (ca. 1 page) and the discussion of another abstract in class, 2) a literature study on one of the course topics including discussion question (ca. 1 page), 3) a short essay (ca. 800 words) or a podcast (ca. 5-8 minutes), 4) short research paper (ca. 2500-3000 words).The final grade consists of the single valuations (grades) for 1) the abstract (20%), 2) the literature study (15%), 3) a short essay or podcast (25%), and 3) the short research paper (40%).
