Diese Lehrveranstaltung ist für alle Studiengänge der englischen Sprachwissenschaft (Lehramt, BA, MA usw.) geeignet, in denen 2, 3, 4 oder 6 ECTS erforderlich sind.

Inhalt:

The seminar will introduce students to the field of contrastive linguistics. We will first discuss the aims, methods and subject-matter of contrastive linguistics, and basic notions such as equivalence, interference, interlanguage will be dealt with. Later on, selected aspects of English and German on different linguistic levels (phonetics/phonology, morphology, syntax, semantics, lexis) will be analysed and compared in more detail. Whenever possible, it is intended to discuss the relevance of contrastive linguistics for foreign language learning.

Inhalt:

This course is concerned with central aspects of phonetics and basic phonological concepts. It will provide a description and classification of speech sounds together with a discussion of all English vowels, semi-vowels and consonants. Particular attention will be paid to the problems German learners have with English pronunciation. Students will learn to use the IPA system to transcribe English texts, including the use of strong and weak forms, lexical and syntactic stress. Core readings and texts for transcription will be made available on the Virtual Campus after each session.

Modulanbindung

Aktive Mitarbeit sowie Vorbereitung und Präsentation einer Klausur.
Es wird dringend empfohlen, mit der Vorbereitung auf die Klausur in englischer Sprachwissenschaft mindestens 1 Jahr vor Prüfungstermin zu beginnen.

Inhalt:

Die Lehrveranstaltung dient der intensiven Vorbereitung auf die wissenschaftliche Klausur nach LPO I §64 (3) 1b "Aufgabe aus der Sprachwissenschaft - Linguistik synchron" für das Lehramt an Gymnasien. Auf der Basis des vorgegebenen und für ganz Bayern einheitlichen Lektürekanons sollen die sprachwissenschaftlichen Kenntnisse der Studierenden in Hinblick auf die Anforderungen der Klausur erweitert und systematisiert werden. Der Schwerpunkt der Übung wird darin bestehen, zu früheren Terminen gestellte Aufgaben eingehend zu besprechen. Von den SeminarteilnehmerInnen wird erwartet, dass sie bereit sind, einzelne Klausuren detailliert vorzubereiten.

Zielgruppe sind Studierende des Lehramts an Grund- und Mittelschulen, Realschulen und beruflichen Schulen - vgl. hierzu alte LPO (2002): LPO I, §48 (4) 1.c) und neue LPO (2008): LPO I, §44 (3) 1.a). Auf der Basis des verbindlich festgelegten und für ganz Bayern einheitlichen Lektürekanons sollen die im Laufe des Studiums erworbenen sprachwissenschaftlichen Kenntnisse wiederholt und speziell auf die Anforderungen der Prüfung hin vertieft und systematisiert werden. Besprochen werden weiterhin die Modalität der Fragestellungen bei dieser Prüfung und die zu früheren Terminen gestellten Aufgaben. Gegen Ende des Semesters werden Übungsklausuren zur Überprüfung des erreichten Kenntnisstands durchgeführt.
