Dieser Kurs bildet ein Modul im MA-Studiengang Iranistik/Erweiterungsbereich: Sprachpraktisches Modul "Varietäten (Dari/Tadschikisch) und Kontaktsprachen des Neupersischen I", Ma Ir 09, Modulgröße 5 ECTS. Der Kurs kann auch für die Modulgruppe "Sprachpraxis" im BA-Nebenfach "Allgemeine Sprachwissenschaft", im MA "General Linguistics", für den Erweiterungsbereich im Elite-MA Cultural Studies of the Middle East/Kulturwissenschaften des Vordern Orients sowie fürs Studium Generale angerechnet werden.

This course forms a module in the MA course in Iranian Studies / extension area: Practical language module "Varieties (Dari / Tajik) and contact languages of New Persian I", Ma Ir 09, module size 5 ECTS. The course can also be credited for the module group "Sprachpraxis" in the BA minor subject "General Linguistics", in the MA "General Linguistics", for the extension area in the elite MA Cultural Studies of the Middle East / Cultural Studies of the Middle East and for the General Studies .

Inhalt:

In this course we teach Northern Kurdish, also known as Kurmanji, which is spoken in a large region of Eastern Turkey and in the neighboring regions of Syria, North Iraq and Iran. Students will be introduced to the basic grammatical structure of Kurmanji . We will also work in developing the communicative competence in Kurmanji. The language of instruction is Kurdish and English.

In diesem Kurs wird das Nordkurdische (auch Kurmanji genannt) unterrichtet, das in einem zusammenhängenden Gebiet im Osten der Türkei sowie angrenzenden Teilen Syriens, Nordiraks und Irans gesprochen wird. Den Teilnehmerinnen und Teilnehmern werden die grundlegenden grammatikalischen Strukturen des Kurmanji vermittelt, darüber hinaus wird ihre aktive kommunikative Kompetenz gefördert. Unterrichtssprachen sind Englisch und Kurdisch.

Inhalt:

The course provides a practical introduction to linguistic fieldwork, with the aim of describing a language of which the participants have no prior knowledge. The course has two parts: first, there are regular sessions with a native speaker of that language, and students attempt to discover the main aspects of lexicon and grammar through the technique of elicitation. Second, there are sessions with the linguistic supervisor, who guides the analysis and supervises the handling of the language data.
Students will be obliged to take on some sub-area of the analysis, and to produce a short description using the material that is gathered during the field-work sessions (which are generally recorded).
