Voraussetzungen / Organisatorisches:
Each session is devoted to a core topic. As a basis for discussion, all participants have to read one or two central texts per week. Each participant has to give a short presentation about an educational system and complete several assignments. The exam will be a written examination (Klausur), which will take place in the last session of the term.Prüfungsanmeldung in FlexNow: 19.05.2016 - 09.07.2016; Registration for exam in FlexNow: 19.05. - 09.07.2016! Office hours during the semester: Tuesday, 2pm - 3pm
Inhalt:
Educational systems differ across countries or even within countries. Various aspects, such as educational institutions, transitions, the structure of schooling, and curricula show a huge variety. The seminar introduces the most important dimensions of differentiation. We will also deal with the consequences of institutional arrangements for different outcomes, such as educational inequality or labour market transitions.
