Termine:

Voraussetzungen / Organisatorisches:

  • 12 ECTS

  • Requirements: Combined portfolio that consists of several tasks that have to be completed in the two seminars.
  • At least some knowledge of Stata is mandatory.
  • The first session takes place on April 13, 2021.
Inhalt:
This module consists of two courses that are closely interlinked. Our teaching will be based on a coordinated schedule. The seminar "Integration of immigrants" introduces into the processes underlying immigrants' incorporation in the destination country along various dimensions (i.e., cultural, sturctural, social and emotional). The focus then shifts to a set of empirical studies that investigate these dimensions. On the one hand, contributions are discussed in light of the acquired knowledge on immigrants' integration. On the other hand, in the seminar "Replication of empirical studies on immigrants' integration" the very same studies are replicated. The replication part begins with a brief general introduction. Then each student will conduct a replication (using Stata). Both instructors will provide individual support throughout the semester.
