- Inhalt
- Following last semester's 20th-Century British Drama, part I, this course will cover British drama history from the 1950s to the 1980s. Since this is an intensive reading class, we will read and discuss 12 plays(one per week)and situate the plays within British drama history. Specifically, we are going to look at Absurd Drama, the Angry Young Men Movement, and Feminist Drama while tracing the development of postmodernity in drama.
In this class, students need to prepare discussion questions based on each play we read, combining topics and plays as we move along the semester plan. Primarily, the course serves to introduce a broad variety of plays and dramatic movements in the second half of the 20th century and discuss these in comparison.
