Voraussetzungen / Organisatorisches
Für dieses Seminar verpflichtend ist Übung (D) (nicht für die Bachelorstudiengänge BWL/BIMA und WiPäd mit Studienbeginn VOR WS 15/16).

2. Teilnahmevoraussetzungen:
keine; Studierende im ersten Fachsemester können nur in Ausnahmefällen berücksichtigt werden

vom 18.09.2017, 12.00 Uhr bis 13.10.2017, 23.59 Uhr.

4. Leistungsnachweise:
For credit points to the course / "Leistungsnachweis" and successful completion of the course, students will put together a portfolio of work throughout the semester (continuous assessment), such as short class talks, homework exercises, worksheets, class tests, etc. Regular attendance and participation is also a prerequisite.
Students must also take part in the tutorial group allocated to the course (= Übung D) regular attendance and active participation is expected here as well to receive full credit.

Inhalt
The aim of this course is to introduce basic concepts and principles of English language teaching and to discuss them in the light of practical application and classroom procedure. The course includes a discussion of the following: theories of language learning and acquisition, approaches and methods in ELT, teaching vocabulary / grammar / the skills / literature, the principles of lesson planning, error analysis, and assessment procedures in the classroom.

Erasmus/foreign students cannot be guaranteed a place in this seminar. These students must arrange a personal appointment with the lecturer during the last week of the semester break.
