- This seminar aims at providing a thematic overview on visual perception while giving students the highly valuable opportunity to train their competences in English in a noncompetitive environment. We will do an excursion to the hands-on museum turmdersinne (www.turmdersinne.de).
- Inhalt
- Participants of this course will explore the basics of visual perception. After an introduction into the various stages of processing and the relation between perception and action, students present topics within the field of research on visual perception, f.i. face recognition, prosopagnosia, 3-dimensional vision or optical illusions.
During a tour through the interactive science center "turmdersinne" in Nuremberg we will experiment with our own perception to realize how we can be deceived. Students will be able to explain these illusions with the help of the background they gained during the seminar.
