- Voraussetzungen: BA or equivalent qualification in Political Science, no prior statistical (or computing) knowledge is required. Teaching language is English so sufficiently good English is required.

- Inhalt
- This hands-on workshop offers a gentle yet thorough introduction to R, a freely available software package designed for statistical computing and data visualization. R is among the most popular data analysis tools in academia and industry, and it is used in several seminars across the master's curriculum. The workshop introduces participants to the fundamental features of R, using the RStudio editor and the tidyverse package collection. The goal of the workshop is to lay a foundation for more advanced applications that participants may encounter in other seminars and enable them to conduct basic statistical analyses for their own projects as part of a term paper or master thesis.
The workshop is organized around the typical steps of a data analysis project, including data importing, cleaning, transformation for statistical modeling, data visualization, and basic descriptive and inferential analysis. Participants will also learn best practices for project organization and coding style guidelines. This workshop is suitable for complete novices as well as those with experience in other statistical software packages who are interested in learning R.
