- Voraussetzungen / Organisatorisches
- The seminar will be conducted in English, including readings, discussions and assessment. The assessment will be marked according to criteria, and not language skills. I understand that speaking in a foreign language will be daunting for some (or most) students, so I will aim to keep the mood relaxed and any possible difficulties can be discussed in German.
- Inhalt
- There has been a substantial shift in the importance of parenting and meaning of fatherhood and motherhood over the last 100 years. This Master’s seminar will examine the social construction of childhood and parenthood and how this varies across time and societies. Seminar sessions will consist of discussions of topics and readings, presentations, and group work. Assessment will be discussed in the first week of class.
