- Das Seminar findet in englischer Sprache statt. Hausarbeiten können nach Rücksprache mit dem Dozenten auch in deutscher Sprache geschrieben werden.
Die Texte für die erste Sitzung sollten zu Seminarbeginn bereits gelesen sein.
- Inhalt
- Changing governance structures in public science systems
The seminar gives a broad overview of the politics and organization of current public science systems (PSSs) as seen from the perspective of the individual (academic) researcher. Contemporary sociology of science is in apparent consensus that science is in a state of change with respect to disciplinary and institutional categories and boundaries, primarily due to changes in governance structures. The seminar will explore this assumption by examining current regimes of governance of science as seen from the viewpoint of the individual professional scientist; in turn discussing policy/regulation, research funding, and performance evaluation.
