- Inhalt
- Currently, in many countries principles of modern society, like civil and human rights, as well as democracy, equality and freedom are cut back. These actions are legitimized by a common identity, which can be found in ethnic, religious or governmental communities. Is the idea of a modern world society based on universal values dead? Are different cultures struggling for global hegemony? Do new forms of coexistence develop based on negotiation? These and other topics will be discussed in the seminar from the perspectives of different approaches of Modernisation Theory.
