Students are required to attend class regularly and pass a written exam at the end of the semester to obtain the credits.
LA Gymnasium/Realschule/Grundschule/Hauptschule, Basismodul Landeskunde/Kulturwissenschaft (3 ECTS)
BA Hauptfach, (mit Studienbeginn vor SS 12) Basismodul (3 ECTS); (mit Studienbeginn ab SS 12) Aufbaumodul (3 ECTS). We ask students who need to take this course as their Aufbaumodul to take the complete Basismodul first! Due to capacity problems, this course is not open for Studium Generale.
LA Realschule, Aufbaumodul Landeskunde/Kulturwissenschaft, only after passing the complete Basismodul Landeskunde/Kulturwissenschaft and only having passed Landeskunde GB I in the Basismodul, (4 ECTS; written exam + short presentation)

- Inhalt
- This lecture course focuses on the geography and history of the US from the first European settlements to the present; topics listed in the "US Landeskunde Question Catalog" are dealt with in a broader context. In addition to presenting this information, the course provides students with the opportunity to sharpen their listening comprehension skills.
It is recommended, especially for Lehramt students, to attend both the US and GB Landeskunde courses during their studies; students can specialize in either GB or US, but are strongly advised to have knowledge of both countries.
