Inhalt
The seminar Genders, Diversities and Heritage will be held in English language.
Prof. Dr. Sophia Labadi, diversity guest professor 2021/22, and Prof. Dr. Mona Hess, digital technologies in heritage conservation, will give a joint seminar on the topic of diversity, gender, women and heritage, which is also referring to SDG 5: Achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls in the UN Sustainable Development Goals 2030. The choice of topic will be essential to highlight how exclusionary heritage has been of the voices of women and diversities and will interactively discuss some solutions to this problem.

Target group: Gaststudierendenverzeichnis, Studium Generale, Englischsprachig, Gender und Diversität, Veranstaltungssprache Englisch; Target group for this course are all students and staff of the University of Bamberg, including post-graduate researchers and students of the University of Kent.

Specific topics will be : Sustainability goals development (SDG2030) and their reflection in heritage Policies; Participation models in heritage - successes and failures; Gender and diversity in heritage; Post-colonial / anti-colonial / de-colonial heritage.

Information on Professor Sophia Labadi s academic background includes degrees in Heritage Studies (PhD and MA) and Political Sciences (BA). She is currently an AHRC Leadership Fellow (2019-2020), researching why heritage was marginalised from the Sustainable Development Goals. Much of her research has focused on how heritage sites and museums can address some of the most pressing global challenges, including social justice, gender equality or sustainable development. Her research is nourished by her previous experiences as consultant for international organisations. Professor Labadi has published more than 60 peer-reviewed articles and authored and (co) edited 11 books. She has received funding from the EU, the Arts and Humanities Research Council, The Heritage Lottery Fund, English Heritage, The European Cultural Foundation and the National Gallery of Denmark. Her research has received a number of awards, including the 2008 Cultural Policy Research Awards.
